The Bayou Kitchen has been a landmark for in Portland for many years.  The latest owner, Chef S. Karl Silander, bought the restaurant in 2006 and has brought back to the menu Cajun classics like Jambalaya, Gumbo, Piquant, and the larger than life Mufelleta sandwich. 

Karl has been a Chef and Caterer in Maine and New Jersey for over 18 years.

The Bayou Kitchen offers breakfast and lunch with a flare for all things Cajun, pancakes bigger than your head and omelets overflowing with the freshest ingredients.
